Patience, Perseverance, Play: What We Can Learn From The Squirrels, 34" wide x 28" long. Hand dyed and commercial fabrics, colored pencil. The bird house is hanging in my yard and she moved in after chewing the hole out to fit her body, despite the cat face painted on it by the Cub Scout who made the house. He was sure it would scare off the squirrels. Burrowing Owl, 20" wide x 25" long, A threatened species due to land development, the use of pesticides and attempts to eradicate the prairie dog which live side by side with burrowing owls. Unlike other owls, burrowing owls are active during the day. They live underground in burrows that have been dug out by small mammals. India ink and paint on organza, batik fabrics, twisted paper, satin trims, silk threads, wool batting, bone bead, feathers.
